Information about changes at Varbergs Kusthotell in connection with the change of operations provider from Comwell to Ästad Vingård.
At the turn of the year, Ästad Vingård will take over operations from Comwell Hotels, which has managed the business since 1992, and under the leadership of CEO Terese Asplund since 2016. When it came time to renew the lease agreements, Comwell chose to wind down its hotel operations in Sweden and focus on the Danish market instead.
From January 1, 2025, Ästad Vingård, with Daniel Carlsson, CEO and co-owner of Ästad Vingård, as the new CEO, will take over operations. This will result in changes to the current offerings, and at the turn of the year, Kurortskliniken, the gym, fitness classes, personal training services, the shop, and spa treatments will be discontinued to make room for new offerings. The Thalasso spa will be replaced by a classic spa experience featuring saunas, warm pools, and cold baths.
The current Thalasso spa will be replaced by a more traditional spa experience, including saunas, warm pools, and cold baths. Our spa packages and day spa services can be booked as usual. The Kusthotellet spa is planned to undergo a renovation, although the timing for this has not yet been determined.
After the turn of the year, spa treatments will no longer be part of our offerings. Spa treatments will remain bookable until 29 December 2024, except for our infrared sauna, which is no longer available to book. Treatment packages, such as three or five treatments during a stay, will also no longer be available for booking.
The gym will close on 21 December 2024; until then, training can proceed as usual. All fitness and personal training sessions will remain bookable up to and including 21 December 2024. Our members will also be able to book sauna activities in the cold bathhouse up to 21 December 2024. For our staying guests, sauna activities will be available for booking during the interim days between 27 and 29 December 2024.
Gift cards can still be purchased as usual, although the offerings will change next year. Gift cards and vouchers will remain valid after the turn of the year. However, vouchers from external providers such as Live It, Great Days, My Day, and Smartbox must be used before the turn of the year.
