NEW NORDIC SPA SUITES – OPENING MAY 2026
In May 2026, Varbergs Kusthotell opens the first phase of its new spa environments. Two new spa levels, carefully restored in harmony with the building’s original form and Nordic history. The ceilings and halls have been reopened, allowing daylight to move freely through the rooms and across the house. Just outside, three new heated outdoor pools await — and beyond them, the sea. A place where history continues, unhurried.
Spa time is available in the afternoon or evening as part of selected packages.
FOOT BATH ROOM, TOILETTERIE AND WARM STONE BENCHES
On the newly renovated second floor, you are invited to care for yourself — both physically and on a more sensory level. Alongside foot baths, toilette tables and areas for face washing, you’ll find a series of sauna environments inspired by our coastal landscape. Low-temperature rooms with warm stone benches, reminiscent of the cliffs at Kåsa, as well as the warmer trio: Seaweed, Birch and Blossom.

TÅNG, BJÖRK & BLOMSTER
On the second floor, you’ll find Tång (seaweed), Björk (birch) and Blomster (blossom). Three new sauna environments where you can unwind as daylight filters in through the large windows.

SUN VERANDA WITH ORANGERY
Take a seat in the sunlight among the plants. The sun veranda serves as an orangery — a place to enjoy a drink and linger in quiet conversation.

THE SALON
Relaxation and social life need not be separate. Welcome to the salon on the third floor, where the fire is lit. Settle into the sofas for a Nordic afternoon tea, and perhaps a drink as the afternoon gives way to evening. Arriving early? Pre-booked spa breakfast is also served here, in collaboration with Dan Bakstudio.

A MOMENT OF REST
In addition to the salon, orangery and tea room, you’ll find a quiet room on the third floor. Close your eyes for a while on sand-filled mattresses, whenever you wish. Today, there is no hurry.

THREE HEATED OUTDOOR POOLS NOW OPEN
In December, our three new heated outdoor pools opened. Ease into the warm water after a dip from the pier and let the sea breeze cool your skin. The outdoor pools — along with Varbergs Kusthotell’s other spa environments — remain open as usual while the new spa levels are completed. In autumn 2026, a number of pools and older sauna environments will be retired as the ground floor is reimagined.

THE NEW RESTAURANT SEVERINS
Restaurant Severins will also take on new surroundings and a renewed culinary direction from June 2026. Across three dining rooms, open kitchens and new menus will soon present what the coast and the deeper waters have to offer. Each day, the grills are lit, allowing aromas from the sea and the season’s harvest to move through the rooms.

COCKTAILS, SNACKS & BAR MENU
Between lunch and dinner, and in the mood for something lighter? Stop by the bar. The wine room is well stocked, and the bar serves well-crafted drinks, beer and non-alcoholic options throughout the day. From the bar menu, you can order snacks, the lunch of the day or smaller dishes to share. Sea views included.

WINE ROOM AND A LIVING LIST
For those with an interest in wine, there is much to explore — from established producers to newer voices with a freer approach. Follow a sommelier into the wine room, or simply ask to see the wine list. There is always something worth discovering by the glass.
