SPA INFORMATION

SPA INFORMATION

Here is information about what you need to know when visiting our spa.

About Thalasso Spa The sea is integrated into all physical and sensory experiences in our spa. Varberg's Coastal Hotel is the only spa facility in Sweden that offers Thalasso Spa. The word Thalasso means sea in Greek. The salty waters of Kattegatt and seaweed contribute to every delightful spa experience, providing beneficial minerals, harmony, and new energy.

Here, you can enjoy cold baths, our heated sea water pool, steam sauna, a classic jacuzzi, spa treatments, and much more. We refine the spa and wellness traditions that have existed locally in Varberg for over 200 years. Read more here about all our spa experiences.

Entrance to Thalasso Spa

Entrance to Thalasso Spa is included when you purchase a day spa package or a spa package with an overnight stay. If you are a hotel guest, but have not booked a spa package, you can purchase entrance to Thalasso Spa at the reception (subject to availability). You can choose from our five different entrance times. Price starts from 469 SEK per person.

To reduce the number of guests in our spa simultaneously, we offer different spa times. When booking a hotel package, you choose from five different spa times. If you do not make a selection, you will be assigned a time. Limited places per option.

When booking a day spa, there are several different packages with selected times. See day spa packages.

Reduce your carbon footprint and bring your own spa slippers

Annually, our hotel has thrown away 2.5 tons of plastic spa slippers. We need to change behavior and reduce products that are discarded after one use. Therefore, we ask you to reuse and bring your own spa slippers. Any slippers are fine, as long as they are clean and can withstand moisture in the spa. Read more.

Before Your Spa Visit

  • As a hotel guest, you can shower and change into swimwear, bathrobe, and slippers in your hotel room before visiting the spa area. This reduces the number of people in common changing rooms.
  • Day spa guests can pick up a bathrobe at the reception and change in the changing rooms.
  • Towels are provided in the reception or spa lounge.
  • Remember to bring your own spa slippers.
  • Leave the bathrobe and towel in your room or throw them down the laundry chute in the spa when you leave.
  • Avoid bringing valuables to the spa. There are lockable lockers in the changing rooms. Do not wear jewelry when bathing.
  • Remember to stay hydrated while bathing and using the sauna. There are several water stations in the pool area.
  • Please use your mobile phones sparingly in the spa, always on silent mode.

Cold Bathhouse and sauna activities

We warmly welcome you to sea-side spa experiences in our cold bathhouse. The bathhouse has a large sauna with windows providing a wonderful view of the sea. In the building, there are also comfortable resting places with sea views, foot baths, showers, and an ice fountain to cool off after sauna bathing. In the middle of the house, a cozy fireplace is lit. Here, you can enjoy sauna rituals, sauna cupping, sauna yoga and other sea-side spa experiences, year-round, with Kattegat just a few steps outside the door.

You have access to the cold bathhouse during your spa time in the afternoon and between 7-11 in the morning. If you have purchased a day spa, you have access to the cold bathhouse at the same time.

You can participate in sauna activities outside your spa time.

Sauna Ritual
Enjoy a pleasant moment in the sauna at the cold bathhouse. Surrounded by aromatic scents, our sauna hosts will take you on a sauna ritual where you'll experience wonderful temperature contrasts and beneficial scents with various themes.

Thursday kl. 9.20, 17.20

Sauna Cupping
Sauna cupping is led by a sauna host. You perform the sauna cupping on yourself with guidance from the sauna host. In sauna cupping, we use cups to massage the body in a warm, comfortable environment in the sauna. By creating a vacuum on the skin, the suction cup provides an effective and deep connective tissue massage, promoting the circulation of blood, lymph, and tissue fluids, as well as stimulating the skin.

Sauna Cupping Schedule:
Thursday kl. 9.20
Sunday kl. 9.20

Sauna Yoga
Our sauna yoga is led by an instructor. Here, we perform seated gentle yoga exercises in the sauna. Feel free to end with a dip in the sea.

Tuesday kl. 15.30
Wednesday kl. 11.00 on even weeks

Registration for fitness classes and sauna activities

You register for our fitness classes and sauna rituals via a registration screen connected to the spa. There is a maximum number of participants for each fitness class and sauna ritual, so it may be fully booked.
